The trip to San Diego

After spending a month in Europe (yes the post about that trip will come later) we needed some vacation :) As daddy was going to San Diego for work it seemed like a good opportunity. So, on a Friday morning (very early) the little family drove down to the airport to take the plane. After a 5h flight with Morgan "playing" with daddy (and mummy working) we arrived in San Diego where it was still morning.

A brief drive to the hotel and then to the first attraction: Sea World! Sea World delivered on all it's promises and everyone loved it. The whole day was spent watching whales, dolphins, fish and other creatures of the sea and it was a very tired family who eventually got back to their hotel.

The following day was spent at an equally exciting place, the San Diego Zoo. There was so much to see at the Zoo, impossible to do everything in one day. But we managed to see the most important things and Morgan had a blast. The most memorable event for Morgan was to see the elephants which he couldn't get enough of.

After 2 days of excitement it was decided to spend the last day relaxing. At first at the hotel beach and pool and later at the beautiful beaches of northern San Diego and La Jolla. It was a very happy Morgan who took the red-eye home with mummy on Sunday evening. Both mummy and Morgan were a fair bit less content Monday morning after only 4h of bad sleep, but that is another story....

Here are some pictures of this great adventure:

We're off: it's a long flight, but Morgan relaxes with some music...

First thing we stumble upon at Sea World: Elmo's flying fish. How could Morgan resist?

Then it's time to watch the shamu-show with the killer whales

The killer whales put on an impressive show an everyone is impressed

Afterwards we get to see the killer whales in their pool!

After the killer whales it's time to watch some dolphins

A nice lunch is had outside

Then, the highlight of the day for Morgy, the Penguins!!!!

The penguins are so funny, Morgan can't stop laughing!

He even has to get penguin sandals ("fingving-shoes") and a penguin pajamas (not in the picture)

Between all the aquariums and shows there is also time to play!

There's even a 4D Elmo movie to Morgy's joy! Well, it turned out to be a bit scary in the end...

The following morning Morgy is up early in his fingving-shoes and with his killer whale!

There are so many interesting animals at the Zoo, Morgy can't take his eyes off the giraffes.

It's fun to play with the elephant statues...

...but nothing beats the real thing. The elephants are THIS BIG!

There's also a cool ski-lift at the zoo, you don't even have to wear ski-suits!

And there's time to take some cool pictures. Morgy enjoyed the moment almost as much as seeing the elephants

Watching the hippos underwater is fun and Morgy learns a new word: "hippopotame"

We also see some cool monkeys; Hard to tell if Morgan or mummy is more impressed with them ;-)

The last day Morgan and daddy go for an early morning stroll on the beach while mummy sleeps in

Finally breakfast time and Morgan creates a new dish: Porridge on toast!

Then it's time to do some family biking in the sun!

...and play some on the beach...

...and in the pool.

While Morgy is sleeping in the car mummy and daddy take turns swimming on the nice beaches of La Jolla

Then there is time for one final drink in P.B. before heading home! What a great weekend!

Mamie Anny & Papy Jeannot in Atlanta!

During the month of April Mamie Anny and Papy Jeannot came to visit us in Atlanta! Mummy has been responsible for publishing the blog and has had some issues in selecting about 20 pictures amongst the 1467 pictures Papy Jeannnot took! The stay was really enjoyable, April being a great time to visit Atlanta. Morgy had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed the different activities offered to him during 3 weeks. The pictures are proof...

Welcome to America! it's SMASHING!

We start the stay with a w/e at home and a traditional Corbier-Mether brunch.

We also do some LEGO train building...

Morgy gets to enjoy plenty of parcs and outdoors activites during the 3 weeks...
Balls on the way to the parc...
The "famous" playground at Peachtree Plantation West!
We even go shopping for more toys... and it's really tough to not buy anything!
Morgan does his best to convince us to buy him a truck...
But Papy and Mamie convince him that drawing and coloring is much better for the environment!
We are all very spoilt on Easter w/e with many presents...
The second w/e we decide to go wine tasting in Georgia! They even have cheese for Morgy!
Papy and Morgy find a field full of flowers on the nice countryside
Mamie Anny and Morgy also relax and swing on the classic porch rocking chairs
Relaxation was definitely needed before riding the wolf at Wolf Mountain Vineyards.
And especially before going hiking with the whole family!
As usual Morgan has to work very hard in his back pack...
Well, it wasn't that bad after all until Daddy decided to do a finnish dip in a lake in the North Georgia mountains...
After 5 hours of hiking, Morgy would like to show Papy some Martial Arts tricks.

A well deserved "calorie-rich" family dinner is served at the Dillard House!

Welcome to America! Morgan is terrified by the big Easter bunny!

And prefers the thought of riding the "Gone with the Wind" carriages... where is the horse?

And of course... as a true Atlantan there's nothing like a Coca Cola at break-time!
A real tourist...

We even get to pose at the Atlanta aquarium. Looks like Papy is going to get chewed by the shark in the background...
But Morgy is making friends with the cro-croc-crocodilos.
Nothing like a Sweet Water 420 in Historic Norcross when the sun is out (Morgy only has apple juice of course!!)

As soon as daddy leaves on a business trip, we go to many restaurants and have fun...

... good food and good wine...
Morgy gets to run around like a rabbit after the bath!
The bedtime stories are so much more fun with Papy and Mamie...

A last visit to Piedmont park before Mamie and Papy's departure...
Good bye Atlanta and Papy and Mamie Anny! See ya'all later!
