Happy Birthday Morgan!

A week ago little Morgan had his first birthday! It's been a very exciting year for all involved and most of all for Morgan himself of course. Now this year hasn't exactly gone fast, remembering a time when Morgan didn't walk is hard already not to mention a time when he was just a baby, doing nothing but sleeping and eating. Remembering a time before Morgan... was there really such a time? Hasn't he always been here? All this to say that it does seem like Morgan's been with mummy and daddy for a very long time.

The actual birthday celebration was handled with cake and presents as is customary for a birthday party. However, the ceremony didn't quite go as planned... It started by Morgan being more interested with the candle than the cake (yes, Morgan's first interaction with fire). It continued with Morgan falling over and hitting himself on the corner of the table twice. The latter fall eventually producing a black eye. Not quite the birthday anyone had planned, but at least it will be remembered. And Morgan does like his presents...

Walking the walk

Yes ladies and gentlemen, it has happened. A few days after his 11 month birthday Morgan took his first cautious steps. From there on, there was no stopping the avalanche, the snowball was rolling. A few days later the count was up to four consecutive steps, a few days after that 6. And after that, well no-one was counting anymore. Now a few weeks later and Morgan still crawls a bit, in particular when tired or just in too much of a hurry, but his walking is getting better and better. And he walks most of the time. He must be wondering why it took him 4 months from standing up the first time to trying his first step (at least mummy and daddy are). Or he's probably not wondering, just enjoying the walk....and waiting for the run to begin!

Morgan had his first "walk while eating" experiment. Not too successful, it included many falls and the apple was all over the place...

...but it was fun!

He even started putting out fires one morning. A future profession perhaps?
